remember

I first learned of an Ebenezer during a men’s bible study that focused on the book 1 Samuel. I really enjoyed the idea of having a collection of rocks that symbolized blessings that I didn’t want to forget. Jamie pushed this idea further by acquiring some beautiful smooth rocks, a heat embosser for marking the rocks, and a clear, glass vase to store them in. The rocks help make the sometimes intangible blessing feel tangible. The weight of the rocks gives the marked moments a realness that cab be felt. Feeling these moments helps us remember them.

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.
